Enabling editable pages allows you to protect areas on your page from editing. In this screenshot, three editable places have been defined: 1) a title place, 2) a by-line and 3) a story text have been created. When you open this page in the editor, these are the only areas on the page that can be changed. This protects the aesthetics of the page, as well as the navigation.Defining the page in the Enabler is a simple matter of highlighting the area, selecting the type of place and then clicking save. The type of place determines what editing can be performed in the page. The Rich Text Place allows the most editing, the link place allows only a link to be inserted, an image place allows only an image and a text place allows only a text.
The purpose of this delineation is control of the page. In the multi-user version some users will only be able to edit and others will be able to define places. This gives complete control to the page editing.
For even more control, a designer can manually define the place in the page. The formats are given in the user documentation.
